"Overtake" function

Introduction

When you press the "OV" button 1 on the steering wheel, the engine delivers the maximum performance, instantly increasing the vehicle's acceleration.
You must press and hold the "OV" button 1 in order to keep the function activated. The maximum duration of the function is approximately 10 seconds.
Beyond this and/or when the button is released, the vehicle resumes its normal operation.
WARNING
Because of the acceleration gained, this function should only be used if traffic conditions permit, and in compliance with the local driving regulations.
Please ensure all the conditions are met before each use.
Risk of accident or serious injury.

Activating the system

To activate the function, the following conditions must be met:
  • with the engine on, D position is engaged;
  • Normal or Sport mode is activated DRIVE MODE;
  • the vehicle speed is not zero;
  • the accelerator pedal is pressed;
  • the traction battery and the engine have reached their operating temperature.

Display

At any time, you can check if the function is available by consulting the remaining range on the "OV" gauge 2 displayed on the instrument panel.
When the "OV" gauge 2 is empty, the function is no longer available and it is necessary to wait for it to gradually recharge. To do this, simply release the "OV" button 1 and the gauge 2 will start to recharge gradually.
The time required to fully recharge the "OV" gauge 2 is 30 seconds maximum.
Note: it is not necessary to wait for the gauge 2 to be fully recharged in order to activate the function. This is available as long as the gauge is not empty.

Conditions for non-activation of the system

Certain conditions will prevent activation of the system:
  • engaging R or N position;
  • the "Save" mode is activated. In this case, the "Overtake unavailable in this DRIVE MODE" message is displayed on the instrument panel DRIVE MODE;
  • the "OV" gauge 2 is empty;
  • the traction battery charge level is too low;
  • failure of a vehicle system (ESC, etc.).

Operating limits and temporarily unavailability

Under certain conditions (battery or engine temperature too hot or too cold, etc.), the availability of the "Overtake" function may be limited or even temporarily inhibited.
When the function is limited, the "OV" gauge 2 on the instrument panel may not be fully recharged.
If the function is inhibited, the "OV" gauge 2 is displayed as empty on the instrument panel. If you press the "OV" button 1, the "Overtake unavailable" message appears on the instrument panel to inform you that the function is unavailable.
